Where I can get a small square of Cordura fabric?

Post by cycle cat »

I need a small piece, in black, about 6 inches square so I have some left over for future repairs.
I plan to glue it and sew it and use some seam sealant.

Please don't laugh, but I carelessly left some cereal bars in my Altura rack pack im the shed.
A mouse has got in and nibbled a hole through the top pocket.
I will soak the bag in a Dettol solution to disinfect it.

I'm really not doing a good job of mousing, being a cycle cat and everything!!

The bag is ancient and not really waterproof any more.
I'm quite used to pouring water out of it after a downpour.
I can't afford a new one.

I only hope the mice don't get a taste for Ortlieb panniers!
Thank goodness for soup.

How about asking if anyone has an old bag you could cut a piece from, or perhaps a cycle jumble?

I'm still kicking myself for chucking out an old bag...

Pennine Outdoor do heavy duty nylon at £7.85 a metre but postage is £3.60 on top of that.

Maybe a fabric shop or market stall would have something - you might be able to find some wide nylon webbing or petersham waistband tape which would be big enough.

I once accidently left a banana in a Camelbak bag. I then left it in the loft for a year. On returning I was presented with a small pile of first class potting compost
