North Sea Cycle Route
Hi I am going to be cycling from Hook of Holland to Esbjerg (Denmark) following the North Sea Cycle Route. Would be grateful for any help and advice. Does anyone know how far this is in miles approx? How long does it normally take? What is the terrain like? Any advice on maps etc? Are there campsites along the route? Would be great to hear from people who have ridden this section of the route. Many Thanks, Martin

I have a copy of Bernie Friend's book. He gives a daily account of where he went and where he stayed (mostly campsites) whilst cycling the NSCR. An interesting read.

Get a copy of the relevant Esterbauer guides - even in German they're useful, some are in English http://www.amazon.co.uk/North-Cycling-R ... ycle+route
Have fun

Approx 550 miles, and it took me 11/12 days, gentle terrain with plenty of camp sites.

Re: North Sea Cycle Route
We did Hook of Holland as far as Cuxhaven on a tandem with trailer. Easy cycling, plenty of campsites, some right on coast and very well signed when we were there. Can be exposed, we had a very windy journey. The German section seems to be an area where not much English is spoken but luckily I had enough German to get by. Hope you enjoy your trip.
