Aldi - did anyone buy the kit last week?
Aldi - did anyone buy the kit last week?
I tried their pro bib longs but found them a bit restrictive. Their black roubaix type jackets didn't seem bad for £30
anyone else take a look? I wonder if they are pricing themselves out of the market now?

Re: Aldi - did anyone buy the kit last week?
I bought a few things:
1. Socks - these were the best thing. Nice and warm and fit great.
2. Base layer - this is ok - like any other synthetic base layer. I think it is meant to be 'compression' fit, but I accidentally bought a size too big and it fits me fine.
3. Long sleeve jersey - haven't tried it yet, but seems fine. Material is quite thin and it has a slightly annoying flap over your bum.
5. Bib tights. I liked these - quality seemed good and v reflective but the small was too big for me, but got money back so no complaints at all.
Cheers

I found all the sizes a bit small when I bought some kit there a few years ago.
I never realised I was so consistently 'large' until I went into Aldi...
cheers

I bought a cycle jersey three weeks ago. At nine pounds they are great work shirts that I can cycle in as well.

Bought 2 sets of base layers. Fits fine with a large, nice and snug. Thought it wasn't going to fit with it been "compression" as them never do.

I went down to the Havant, Hampshire branch for my weekly bulk stock-up of ingredients for Pasta Lash-up.
There wasn't any of the advertised cycling stock present ( which is very unusual ).
Not that I was bothered. My days of frenzy for Aldi/Lidl cycling goods are long gone,

I don't think the frenzy exists any more. This stuff was a tad expensive by Aldi/Lidl standards. There was loads of stuff left yesterday - didn't seem to be selling particularly well. For a few dollars more you would be into DHB territory from Wiggle.

Yeah, it was a bit pricey at £13.99 each, and that isn't a pair. Its for one of bottoms or top!
Wiggle do a twin pack deal at £30 so, saved £8 getting 2 pairs.

But they have to tested just in case. We don't want disappointment on the day.

They don't keep it in stock all the time. They get cycling clothing for 1 week in Autumn and Spring and once it has sold, that's it for 6 months.

They've got merino base layers in tomorrow (5th) as part of their ski stuff if that is of any interest to folk (link).
