A huge ammount of money has been spent on the tow path upgrade, its surface is now probably better than the main road from Acrefair into LLangollen.

Must be one of the most scenic canal side rides around.

I've done the ride from near Chirk Bank to the Aqueduct (& back) several times. Don't forget decent lights though, as there are 2 tunnels, one of which - albeit a fairly short one - is unavoidable. They do both have a towpath with a railing so are quite safe.

There are also quite a few quiet little lanes in the rectangle with Llangollen & Chirk at diagonally opposite corners, but be prepared for some blooming steep hills - you know its going to be bad when you go past a 25% sign on the way UP!

We live just outside Mold, and it's gorgeous. We are right on the edge of the Clwydian Range AONB. Great mountain and road riding. Lots of traffic free trails for kids, Llyn Brenig, North Wales Coastal Route, Burton Marshes route and onto the Wirral, Llandegla. Walking up Moel Famau is a great day out. A great campsite is Fron Farm, near Rhydymwyn. Beautiful views etc. also, less than an hour from Snowdonia. Chester Zoo close also. Message me if you want more info.
