Thanks Cyber. Cycle Chat down for me too. So you're happy having the Comp in SM size ?

AlastairS wrote:The Boardman Pro , the one I'm nearly buying has the following geometry.
Small(SM) : TT = 54, stem =100mm , crank L. = 170mm
Medium (MD) : TT = 55.5, stem =110mm , crank L. = 172.5mm
Calling all people whose height is around 5' 7", what size of road bike above do you think would fit you ? SM or MD?
Thanks
actually, whilst you will fit onto the MD (probably with a short stem etc), I think the SM is likely to be a better fit for you.
cheers

Yes, i tried a medium and it felt too big for me .
My set up is
69 cm saddle height from BB, 3-3.5 cm set back for saddle and 50-51 cm reach from saddle tip to ctr of the bars with a 6 cm drop saddle to bars.

Thank you both.
I've heard that with your elbow at the saddle tip and arm pointing towards the bars, fingers extended, they should be in an approx. position, but not sure what that position is?

mine similar , its all open to wiggle room either way .Mines that + 2 finger widths to the center of the stem which i suppose would be about the same as that to the back of the bar .

Thankyou!
I will go to the shop tomorrow and try doing the elbow position on the bike.
I'll away now and measure the top tube length on my Dawes Galaxy and the stem length too.
Don't want to buy the wrong side.

Its best to try , you can make a slightly to big bike smaller but its best to go with the right size if you can .
My commuter is a self build from a vanquish frame thats 1 size on the large size and i get away with an 80 mm stem .

My touring bike Top Tube (TT) = 56cm, Stem (S) = 10cm, Seat tube (ST) [BB to top of seat tube ] = 57cm.
TT + S = 66cm
Th touring bike position is quite comfortable for me.
Elbow test : arm and hand length plus 3 fingers widths.

Er, tell me there's a happy end to this story. Please.
Re: Boardman Road Team Pro / Focus Cayo Evo 7.0
Hi Keyboardmonkey, I'm pleased to say there is a happy ending to this story. I have bought a Boardman Road Pro at my local Halfords store. I plan to collect it next Saturday, so a big thank you to everyone for being so patient with my countless questions! Many thanks, Alastair
p.s. I have ordered a 51.5cm which I'm sure fits me much better than the 53cm I ordered earlier.

I do most sincerely hope that it is everything you want of it; I'm sure everyone will want to know how you are getting on with it too!
cheers
