I can recommend these Schwalbe levers as well. Had mine for a few years with no bending or breakages. I find Gatorskins very tight on Mavic X517 rims. These Schwalbe levers cope very well whereas some other skinny black ones have snapped.

Hm. I think I've got three Speedlevers. Looks like I'll be guarding them well :)

I've seen two guys in our club remove tyres without levers. Can't tell you what the tyre rim combination was though.
