Forum Update Advance Warning

Post by admin »

The software for this Forum will be updated some time in the next day or so (depending on other workload). While the update is in progress the Forum will not be available, perhaps for quarter of an hour or so.

Will it get rid of those ${expletive} tapacrap banners?
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

I'm looking for an even more proactive prude-bot and having my vocabulary extended.

A "like" button would be nice but I think that has long been ruled out.

How about automatic notification for threads you have started? This is usual on most forums and I cannot help suspecting we lose new posters who think their question has not been answered when they hear nothing back. You could have this as the default, and even auto notification for any thread you have posted on, with an opt out in the user control panel.

Those of us using the despised Tapatalk have been using a like button for a number of weeks now.

Well yes but I believe this actually 'defaults' to a No for "Notify me upon replies by default" when you sign up, or at least it did when I joined so I had to go and search it out- if so a new poster may well miss this and not get notifications, if not then ignore me
