Hi,
I have been on many CTC holidays and self guided tours and would like to organise a CTC Holiday. Could anyone point me in the right direction please. Do I need to complete a course etc?
Many thanks
David
Tour leading a CTC Holiday
Re: Tour leading a CTC Holiday
I believe the first step is to be assistant leader on a few tours.

There's also a tour leading qualification which they'll probably try and flog you if you've not done much leading before.

Yes, I think you buddy up with an experienced tour leader. This happened on the last CTC tour I went on. The assistant actually did most of the planning and the experienced leader just oversaw things. They used to split the group in two with some riding with the experienced leader and some the assistant. It was quite an eventful tour, with a few things going wrong (Ferry broke down, hostel double booked and another ferry with not enough capacity to take the full group, so they certainly had to think on their feet).
