NS Instructor training and Bursaries. Wales.

Postby meic » 2 Mar 2009, 1:56pm

I reacted to the notice in the CTC newsletter.
I have been a keen cyclist for over 4 years and looked into the idea of becoming an instructor when the scheme was introduced in England.
Now it is available in Wales I would like to give it a go. However I am having difficulty in applying.
I have got a Bursary application form and know there will be courses in Carmarthenshire in 3 weeks time. The links I have been given are not leading to the info that I need. I can not find trace of who is running these locals courses.
Is it a "closed shop" whereby I have to go through the local council?

Do I have to go back to the contact where I got the application form and ask for the info which is necesary to complete the form? If so why didnt I get the info with the form? Is it a test of my abilities?

Contact your local authority, they *should* be able to point you in the right direction, and perhaps even offer funding themselves too.

Thank You,

Pity all the courses were run in March, 3 months ago.
As it turns out all the local courses were fully booked before I even got to them.

I just checked out the given link and it is to the very thing that started my question in the first place.
I guess this is very much for people "In the know" only.

Excuse the advertising but....
Liverpool's quite close to (North) Wales & Cycling Solutions run regular instructor training courses.
Is anyone going to the instructor forum in Colwyn Bay on 18 June'09?
