beginner adult riders

Postby vivm » 22 May 2009, 7:40pm

Not sure if this is the right forum but....I'm looking for someone in the Southampton/Winchester area who is capable/qaulified to teach a fit adult to ride . The hitch is that person wanting to learn is an asylum seeker and has no money to pay for lessons. Currently they don't have a bike either - though they may obtain one.

Bit of a catch 22 then really!

Wont the benefits office cough up some funds?

What's your interest in the case?

Hi Viv

Not sure if the Sustrans/Southampton PCT partnership 'StreetTread' could help. Try emailing them here....

What degree of cycle tuition do they need? Straying upright on two wheels or some basic/advanced roadcraft? I'm sure if a cycle was 'acquired', then some of us in the local group could help.....
