Over Large Pics Posting

Postby NATURAL ANKLING » 19 Oct 2015, 12:51pm

Hi,
Is it just me or do others find that pictures that are posted that are over large in size :?: Bigger than I can (256 kb) post do not show properly.
And for ease of viewing photos do not need to be that large anyway.

I am using win 7 and the big 1mb plus photos do not show up with out resizeing screen page view which then make text minute :x

Maybe I need to flick a switch or something.
Or maybe we just limit photo size across the board?

Please help.

The photo size is already limited. If you embed a photo, large ones may not show correctly.

If you upload a photo, you are limited to 256 kB

If you want to resize a file, there are a couple of threads with instructions.

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=82556&p=737419 has links to other threads.

Did I understand the question correctly?

Pics uploaded to the boards are limited to 256KiB, which keeps things tidy but can be frustrating for those who don't know how to resize their pics.

Many pics are not uploaded, they are hosted on other sites such as flickr, dropbox, etc and viewed by a link .

User Control Panel > Board Preferences > My Board Style gives various options, some of which handle large externally hosted pics better than others.

This is to see whole picture........Note the text size is now unreadable!

That one's an image hosted on dropbox, viewed through a link :

(Link switched off to demonstrate.)

Pictures uploaded to this forum pre March '09 display the same way. If the function was switched off every picture hosted elsewhere would disappear, not just the large ones and lots of old forum photos would disappear too.

Right click on the pic, select view image.

You'll need to use the back arrow to return to the forum afterwards.

Process may vary by browser, certainly works in Firefox.

Hi Mr Ankling - you could try right-clicking on the image and choosing Open Image/Link in New Tab, too. Hope that helps. :D
