Site keeps logging me out

I thought this was just due to the domain name change viewtopic.php?f=15&t=104966 but it's happened several times now. I have the automatically log in box ticked. Is this just temporary or is there a problem?

Don't know, but I've just had to log in, which I never normally have to. I assumed it was to do with everything being "reset" as a result of the brand change.

People probably need to delete their old board cookies.

EDIT: Which in my browser at least, don't exist to be deleted.

It looks like the forum software hasn't yet been configured to set cookies on the CUK domain, so it's trying to set them on the CTC domain and most browsers either don't allow that (it enables various types of cross-site attack) or simply don't send CTC cookies when requesting pages from the CUK domain.

It should be a quick fix once someone with access to the right configuration realises it's broken.

The site should set cookies for the hostname automatically. Certainly it works fine for me here.

Shouldn't be any need to delete any cookies for the old hostname, unless you want to save a tiny amount of disk space.

If you restrict the domains that are allowed to set cookies in your browser, you will need to replace "forum.ctc.org.uk" with "forum.cyclinguk.org" to be able to log in here.

If anyone is still having trouble, post a message here with details of your computer type (desktop, iPad, phone, etc.) and if possible the browser version you're using (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, Vivaldi, Edge, etc.)

Hmmm... sadly Edge is one of the few browsers I don't have access to for testing.

Is there a pattern to when you get logged out?

Does Edge have restrictive cookie settings?

Aha, there was a cookie domain setting hidden away, that referred to the old site. It seems the Forum was managing to remember login sessions, to a certain extent, using the "sid=....." addition to the URL.

Should be fixed now?
