What happened this morning?
What happened this morning?
Up early, as I usually do.
Tried to access the forum, but no deal.
No connection, but the rest of the internet seemed ok.
This was at about 0545 and later too.

Me too, I almost went cycling instead
Going cycling later, first going for a walk in the beautiful cemetery through crunchy snow

OK here it's a good Friday, but I bet some poor sod will get crucified by the end of the day

Went for a ride first thing, then it started raining. Cold and miserable so came home. 8 miles. Forum seems ok now.

I understood from an earlier thread that you were a devout Christian.
Re this morning, I had assumed that we'd had what is now often referred to as an "outage." When I first read what I assumed to be an Americanism, I misread it as "outrage" which seemed like an overraction, till I read it more carefully. So, let's not treat an outage as an outrage. The forum was down a while, no wrecks and nobody drownded, so not a big deal.

Is it back now?
Am I typing into nothing?
Can anyone hear me?

What would we do if these fora closed? I have no family, the fora are my most important social contacts. I note that many prolific posters are married with family, they find time for the fora too. But there must be others like me who are to some extent dependent, it is better than having 'real' friends in s o m e ways, +1

Re: What happened this morning?
I'm not sitting with the laptop on my lap all day. Just check in for a short while maybe two or three times a day.
It's a great place to chat and chew the fat, and to discuss all things bicycle as well.
What would I do if this forum closed?
I'd be very grumpy.

I suppose we would have to do the things we did in the "old" days.
You'll never know if you don't try it.

Letters to the editor (CTC mag) used to be good, in the days when they were really an exchange between readers.
