GPX Upload

Post by shadwellrhino »

Hi, I want to post some routes in the forum which I have stored in Strava as GPX routes. Is there an easy way to copy them into a forum post?
Thanks!

Short answer, no.

However if you upload them to any other site you can then post links on the forum to your uploads.

You should be able to just link to the routes in strava if you make them public.

You don't have to make everything public - all my strava stuff is private (only me, strava & the FBI 8) can see it) unless I choose to make individual items publicly accessible. GPX files can be downloaded by folk directly from strava.

I think the routes made public on Starva are still only visible to those with Strava accounts - I think anyone can see an outline, but you can't zoom in for detail or download. That's my experience anyway, though I might have done something wrong...
Try this without logging on

An alternative is to copy them from Strava to a mapping site without the restrictions like Ride with GPS. You'll need to set up an account, but it's free and if you make it public anyone can view it. Like this, which I've copied from the Strava file above

I can zoom in but can't see any download button (I've never had an account on Strava - so can't even have remnants of login cookies hanging around)

Thanks, it's as I thought that just changing screen resolution, with the full zoom function the detail changes as you zoom in.

Thanks for the tips; I'm hoping to post a LeJoG route shortly.
