I do treasure the memory.
It's one of the things that keeps me on here. :D

Does anyone have a clue about any time period when the Terry's primus clip thread was active?

The first record of it being noted as missing seems to be here, and Fonant seems to have made an unsuccessful search then

Ok. The CTC forum on the Wayback Machine seems to start in 2007, so I'm afraid it won't be found there.

I now understand that there was no auto-delete on the old forum so I've no explanation for where it went. Let's assume there was some long-gone feature which prevented thread resurrection / dead-horse flogging. Perhaps one of those lost skills like loom-tuning. Can this be revived? Let's hope so!

The Wayback Machine record starts from 13 Sept 2004. I'm still sure it won't be found there.

In case anybody was wondering about loom tuning - and even if they were not - here's a picture of a loom tuner.

It doesn't seem so. But I wonder why I didn't find that. I'm usually pretty good at finding stuff on the Wayback Machine.

The big difference is that gaz depends on his own memory, rather than all this modern IT gubbins. I used to be like that too. :(

An educated guess is that you searched "forum.ctc.org.uk", the earliest url configuration of the current forum. The original forum was "ctcforum.org.uk".

I can't recall how or when I discovered that, it certainly wasn't from memory.

Just to redress the balance.
Personally I find the moderation on this Forum:-
Actually I won't bother putting what I think because it will probably be seen as a "direct insult" and will be moderated

I admire your self-restraint: probably the best form of moderation available.

Is data storage capacity an issue?

They aren't deleted very often. What were you looking for?

Got an example at last, I am sure I read a thread about cbdr 'accidents' at Ipley Cross in the New Forest, can not find it now, could it have been automatically deleted?
