Posts disappearing

Post by yutkoxpo »

Hi,
This is happening to me frequently where I make a post but it is not displayed in the thread.
I normally write the post, preview it then hit Submit.

At some point later I'll check the thread again and my post is not there.

At first i thought I had hit the wrong button but I'm pretty sure that's not the case now.

Any ideas?

Hi,
When you hit submit, I have had this many times, above the preview you will see other posts that have been posted since you started to construct your post.

Catches me out every time, remember to scroll Down to see that the construction window is no longer there.

Thanks,
I'll keep an eye on it, but I'm not convinced that's the issue.

I am now pretty certain that I have to click the SUBMIT button TWICE to get the post onto the topic.

Or rather :
1) Compose Post/Reply. Click SUBMIT
2) Check that it has been added to the topic. . . . . . not present.
3) Browser backarrow to get to the posting form ( to recover my text )
4) Click SUBMIT - 2nd time
5) Check again. . . . . present this time.

This to be happening a lot. Or perhaps I am going even madder ?

As a precaution, if I've written a lengthy post I will copy what I've written before hitting Submit - as I've been caught out before on other forums.....

If then it goes belly up, I can simply paste what I had already written..
Currently own a tired old Orange C16 - battered and bruised but a great bike.

+1

Just try recomposing from memory :(
Back button is not a reliable method I have found to recover text, says something like page expired something......

Likewise. And I find if I've use "preview" it seems less obvious. I use everything in a different browser tab so often (when this happens) I'll press submit, move to another tab and come back to check before closing the tab and it's not been submitted because of the "other posts" and the forum asking if I want to review/change my post.
