Forum - Opens link in the same tab now - what have I changed?

As per the title. When I open a link in a post it opens in the same tab. It used to open a new tab. I'm not aware of changing anything and can't find an option to change it back. What am I doing wrong?

if you right click rather than left click you will get the option to open in a new tab. I thought the tab settings were part of your browser settings not the forum software so I'll wait to see if I am corrected.

Certainly for a while I have found that the default is that links open in the same window - overwriting the forum. A bit annoying if you open multiple pages in the link as you have to go back, back, back, etc. or reopen the forum.

I cannot answer whether it has always done this, but I don't think so.

I use another forum (Lonely Planet) and that opens in a new window.

I'll try the right and left mentioned above.

I believe it changed in a previous forum update.

Yes, it seems there's a long history to it. So it's a forum thing, not a browser issue. It's rightclick then.

Did you know that if you hold the mouse button down (or keep pressing with your finger if using a touch screen) you get a list of your most recent pages so you can go back a number of steps in one go (10 or more depending on the browser you are using)? :D

Boeing 737 Max apologists initially blamed a lack of pilot training...

IOW if changes to forum settings make previously-OK user actions do unexpected things, it might be a good idea to reset them.

Middle click also opens a new tab on suitable browsers.
