Does anyone else have a problem posting?

Post by PDQ Mobile »

In this case on one specific topic?

So I can write and preview txt in any topic I choose (AFAIK. tried 7 or 8 random ones).

But there is one topic that does not allow even "preview" or "submit"; the buttons are inactive.

It is a politically sensitive thread and has just moved onto page 2 of active topics.
So no one has posted for a while.

So nobody else does have a problem posting on the Trump 3 WW thread?

Nobody has posted on it though.

The topic might be locked, to stop people posting to it.

Um why?
And well if you don't know then we surely don't?

However it is now working again.
Strange?

It's a boring thread anyway.

I don't know, you'd have to ask the moderators, if indeed they did lock it.

You didn't mention which post you were talking about, so I was just guessing a reason why you couldn't post to it

I am practically unmoderated on the forum after some years as a member.

I was moderated on the Bexit thread at the same time as others a couple of times. Things were heated.
I am certainly less moderated than many others on that thread.
..........
It was curious that I simply could not post (or preview) for more than 24 hours and nobody else had posted either. Other threads were normal (is that the correct term!?)

So I wondered why?
If a topic is locked then it shows as locked, surely?

The topic is super sensitive for sure.
The net (and media) is full of imformation and disinformation.

There's nothing wrong with trying to ascertain some semblance of truth though.
And to correct what one personally sees as genuine inaccuracies.
Best regards PDQ.

Yes, that is true.

So no explaination then?

My device also showed unusual continued connectivity assosiated only with that thread.

I can investigate if you can tell me which topic was causing you problems. Might be useful to know when you had the problems, too.

My best guess is a browser or network issue, as I've never heard of posting problems that are limited to just one topic. Can't think of any logical reason why that might occur.

It was the "Has Trump started WW3 "topic.

I've been back through all moderator activity since the beginning of 2020. There was a small amount of attention to this thread, but it hasn't been locked and none of the moderation involved PDQ Mobile. I don't understand why the OP had that experience? At least it's working now :D
