New posts search - now too many pages

I used to get one occasionally two pages when going to m the "new posts" search option in quick links. Now I'm getting 8 even 9 pages. The dates in the results go back to January and include threads I've certainly read up to date on previously.

I've not changed any settings, what could have changed? Can I get back to the most recent new posts only??

Apparently the "New posts" list in phpBB 3 shows "posts added since you last logged out". It's not the same as "View posts since last visit" that was in phpBB 2.

If you stay logged in for a long time the list will keep growing.
