Cannot return from a link

Few companies prosper on the buying habits of this grumpy skinflint*. If Microsoft knew how long I had persisted with Amstrad 8256/ 6 speed cogs and 27" wheels etc etc, they would not depand on sales to me to ensure their company fortunes.

*I am a sucker for Goretex coats and modern technical clothing.

This problem still persists for me, to the extent that I have often been reluctant to bother with links. For anybody else who gets this problem, I have found a very obvious workaround: when returning to the forum from the link, minimise the window of the link, rather than closing it.

I have had this problem, and prefer this similar solution: instead of left-clicking the link, right-click it, then select 'open in new tab'. Then you can read and close the new tab, and the original tab remains unharmed. Slightly neater than minimising, I think.
