At the bottom it says "All times are GMT". I suspect that other time zones can be set-up, I'll have a look.

As noted by another member, you can adjust your own timezone from the Profile page.

Yep, it looks like changing the timezone in the individual profiles is the only solution provided by the software.

There is a global setting, however this is always overidden by the setting in the users profile. All user settings are GMT by default.

It sounds like phpbb v3 has a proper (global) solution, but we will have to wait for that software to release & settle before deriving the benefit.

The Host for my websites is in Germany, so times shown when I upload files are always an hour ahead (Central European Time).

The timezone for all times displayed by the forum is displayed at the bottom of each page.

You can change the timezone in your Profile page.

All the times are displayed in the same timezone, to avoid confusion. So if you set the timezone to your local timezone, all times will be displayed as local times for you.

[The forum server uses the NTP network time protocol to keep its clock accurate, and times should be within a few milliseconds of UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).]

You'll all be pleased to hear that I've now installed the "Automatic Daylight Savings Time" modification to this forum.

Now you'll see that your timezone settings use cities (e.g. Europe/London) instead of fixed hour offsets. The mod makes use of this setting along with the Linux timezone database to display times. The timezone database knows about daylight savings time changes for each timezone, so the times will automatically be correct in winter and summer.

A quick test suggests that the modification is working well, but do let me know if you spot any problems with the times being displayed on the Forum.

When I was at school and had geography lessons, we had seven continents. I managed an O Level too.
Europe was a continent, so were Asia, Australasia, N America, S America, Africa and Antarctica.

The British Isles were in the European continent, although some folk would have it otherwise. Perhaps plate tectonics are working a bit faster these days.

That doesn't mean you're in London, it means you're in London's timezone. "Europe/London" is merely the official name for the timezone in the TZ database.

Sorry for not making myself clear. In the past we have had protests about things being London Centric.

Speaking for myself, while I'm immensely grateful for all the work that goes into the smooth operation of this forum, I'm completely relaxed about whatever time is displayed (and what it's called.)
