Apparent problem with Firefox v2

Post by Graham »

Problem reported by nigel _s :

. . . . having already cleared the Firefox browser cache . . . .

Graham,
Tried IE7. Logged in OK. Logged out. Closed IE7. Opened Firefox
(v2.0.0.3). Logged in OK! Very curious. For the record I was logging
in using Firefox with no problems until about a week ago when the log in
problem started - the message board ignoring the log in request. Oh,
well - maybe an issue with the latest version of Firefox. I'll let you
know if it happens again.

later . . . . .

There is definitely an issue with the message board and Firefox 2. It's
misbehaving again. Sometimes I can log in and sometimes I can't. I'm
trying to work out a pattern and if I suss anything I'll let you know.

later . . . . .

Firefox's Error Console reports this:

Warning: Unrecognised at-rule or error parsing at-rule '@import'.

Any contributions to help resolve this greatly received . . . as I sculk off northwards on my touring bike . . . for a week or two . . . . . .
Cheers
Graham

Very odd. I've just tried the forum quite happily with Firefox 2.0.0.3.

Does nigel_s have any web security software (e.g. Norton Internet Security) installed? Login problems are most probably cookie-related.

The CSS parsing rule suggests a corrupted file in the cache or served from a proxy server. What ISP does nigel_s use, and has he got a proxy server set?

This log on problem is unique to the CTC message board. All other sites with sign-on and password work just fine.

I use BTInternet Broadband. F-Secure for AV and Firewall. No problems encountered before.

I have set Firefox to clear up history etc., when closing.

Thanks for your help and suggestions, so far. Any other help would be appreciated.

The last message was input via IE7, because I couldn't get in with Firefox.
I've just closed IE7, opened Firefox and logged in ok and entering this message.

Weird, it is.

I use Firefox 2.0.0.3

I have an AppleMac MacBook laptop running MacOSX 10.4.9 - the latest OS.

No Firewall, no anti-virus software (not needed with Apple Mac), and absolutely NO PROBLEMS!!

Ever.

Just had a look at Firefox's Error Console.

I too have errors:
"Warning: Unrecognised at-rule or error parsing at-rule '@import'."

and:

"Warning: Unknown property 'scrollbar-darkshadow-color'. Declaration dropped." (Other colours too!)

No actual symptoms effecting me with login, though!
