If I click on my Username, it tells me my Profile, and says I've got 809 posts.
Fine.
but if I click on 'Find all posts by Mick F' is lists all the posts, but says that there are only 793 matches. Why's that?

I'd hazard a guess that the first total is a stored total. The second is a calculated total ( when you initiated the screen upon which the count appeared ).
The difference ????
Possibly, you have posted on "For Sale and Wanted". These will have been auto-purged in the course of time.
You may also have posted on the occasional thread that has fallen down the black hole.
There may be a facility to resync these totals, but that is for another day.
