Firefox can't find server...

Post by PW »

I'm having to refresh/retry several times to do anything, this started yesterday & it's still doing it.
Cheers in advance, PW.

Hi PW,

The usual questions for you
What Operating system ?
What Browser?
What Browser version ?
If you have another browser available, how does that behave.

I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.8, on Ubuntu Linux . . . no problem for me.

Have you tried clearing your browser cache recently ??

cheers
G

Happened briefly to me yesterday too, just for this site. Looked like a transient DNS issue or similar.

I'm on a recently upgraded Firefox with windoze XP. It wasn't at this end, the League of Gentlemen Cyclists uses the exact same forum & that wasn't affected. Came on line immediately tonight.
Cheers, PW.

Well, similar (if they use phpBB) as we've made quite a few custom modifications to the software for this forum.

Might have been a DNS problem (ctc.org.uk's DNS is managed by Demon Internet) which would have affected many forum visitors.

Alternatively it might have been a routing problem somewhere, which would only have affected people using that route across the internet.

What Internet Sevice Providers do you use PW/Graham/drossal?

Mine's BT Internet. It's behaving at the moment, I've been away from the keyboard for a few days so I don't know when it sorted itself out.
