Any archive of 'auto-deleted' items in 'for sale'?

Postby NickMcW » 1 Feb 2015, 2:42pm

Hi -
I've just realised why I couldn't find a "for sale" notice that I posted last year, and wanted to re-use: the forum guidelines state that "Once a topic has become inactive for 30 days it will be automatically deleted." Fair enough. But I wonder if there is an archive available where I can retrieve the text I used? I still have the picture, but didn't think to keep a copy of the text.
Thanks -
Nick.

Sorry Nick. The auto-deletion is full and final.

Is there a reason why they are auto-deleted ?

It might be good to keep a record in case of future disagreement between buyer and seller...

Housekeeping.
30-days since last activity is a long time for Small Ads.

Experience indicates that problems tend to emerge within the 30 day period.

I would much prefer it if folks document their own transactions. i.e. save relevant texts & emails to a diary file.

Google might have a copy in its cache, if you can think of search terms to find it.

If you know the date the item would have been public, you could try the Internet Archive: https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://forum.ctc.org.uk

Many thanks for this, admin.

Archive.org: has one snapshot of the for sale forum from last year, https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://fo ... m.php?f=40 - and individual items don't seem to be recorded.

Google cache: google gives a two-line preview of ads, but not the complete text, unfortunately. In this case: http://ow.ly/ItJqh

Anyway, the suggestions are much appreciated, thank you.
