I live for the day when I can say I'm just south of Achiltibuie. Or north, east or west of Achiltibuie. Or anywhere near Achiltibuie - I live in hope.

Lovely photo. :)

Yep, that's the one!
I rode part of it and walked part of it. I was the only one of the party who even tried to ride.
23mm tyres and road shoes!
There was a farmer on a tractor down at Crackpot, and we asked him what the road was like. He described it perfectly! :D

An inch of snow yesterday and today =

That isn't snow in the fields just water.

Just a 22 mile straight out and back. No cafe stops as it was decidedly cold. (about 3C).
Roads damp and no ice on the puddles. Had to rinse the bike off when I got home and left it out to dry. Next time I looked out there had been a slight shower so bike still wet. :(
At least I got out with this being only my second ride of the year.

Fylde coast perhaps :)

There are hills in sight but indistinct in the heat haze over the Bowland fells. 8)
Fylde coast is where it be. This is Union Lane near Hambleton and looking east towards Garstang.
On a clear day  you would see the Pennines ahead and the Lake district to the left.
It's about 14 miles to the A6 at Garstang for me so that's 28 miles without any hills.
We go over the odd hump back bridge (Lancaster Canal) now and again to test the gearing.
The main aggravation for us is the tramp home into strong westerly's, so it's who is brave enough to go on the front of the peloton.

Just to add this lane is 1.1/2 miles straight.
You'll never know if you don't try it.

I happened upon this interesting radio documentary about the family who lived at Crackpot (mentioned up thread), farming and lead

mining life in the 1930's.

Well worth a listen.
