Thirdcrank is back!
Thirdcrank is back!
I'm reminded of the early days of the Second World War when Churchill was reappointed First Lord of the Admiralty and the message was flashed from ship to ship - thirdcrank is back!

The posting above of the blushing face was meant to denote embarrassment on my part - although it does look as though I am puffing and panting.
I just got hacked-off and decided to give it a rest. I am not a believer in "leaving do's" - I retired from work after 30 years without touching the sides - and I assumed I could re-emerge here without causing waves.
I have had all sorts of personal problems since I stopped posting, unconnected with the forum or my radio silence. I won't bore you but I have not been in gaol or hospital.
I have been touched by the postings of welcome and several PMs I have received. (No need for apologies hubbers - got the point as intended and Horizon - the comparison with Winny seems just a touch OTT - to borrow from Michael Winner 'Calm down dear, it's only a cycling forum )
'Older readers' may remember the thread in 2006 abusing me and the immediate counter-petition which attracted a lot of supportive comments. Even to a grumpy old git like me, such kindness is surprisingly moving.

Welcome back again TC, good to have you on board once more .

Yes TC, we've missed you and your legal expertise. Had to make do with different interpretations.
Many here were worried about you.

You'll need to be briefed about changes since you went into hiding. There was a referendum, and the UK chose to remain in the Commonwealth. David Cameron's still at no 10, but Jeremy Corbyn is riding a wave of press acclaim, and looks like winning the 2017 general election. Leicester City were relegated.
Re: Thirdcrank is back!
Welcome back TC. Nice to have you back

Re: Thirdcrank is back!
Déjà vu all over again.
Thanks for the kind words.
Amazing how the internet makes the world such a small place. One day a few months ago, I had three emails about my absence from the forum: one from Canada, one from Norway, and even one from some remote area called Lancashire.
