I taped loads of them at the time off of Radio 2, and subsequently bought C.D's with the tracks off of the show, not the same without B.D's between song droll patter tho'!
Taped them, eh? Was it really that long ago! I s'pose it was... as you say, we end up hearing stuff that otherwise would have passed us by. I got excited when I heard that Iggy Pop was going to do a show on R6 - I hoped it might be as good as TTRH, but come the day, I didn't think so.
I've been trying to find 'back copies' of some of John Peel's radio shows - I didn't get them back in the day, but I think I might now!
I have over 400 albums on cassette up in the loft.I heard on the radio the other day that they are making a come back as vinyl has.Once our living room is re-decorated I'm going to invest in a decent amp/tape deck/cd player as my old tape deck packed up a few (10?)years ago.I miss it but the wife doesn't

I'm currently listening to many of my old albums in the car via Bluetooth connection to my iPhone as the new motor, like so many now, doesn't have a CD player

I've been looking out for "back-copies" of the John Peel show periodically, without success, whereas the 100 shows of Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour are relatively easy to get hold of. For anyone who hasn't bumped into the excellent Theme Time Radio Hour, it's an hour-long show, with the wonderfully gravel-voiced Dylan picking a theme, like coffee or Cadilac or Calfornia, and playing songs on the chosen theme, mainly but not exclusively from the American popular songbook. It's a fabulous resource as well as hugely enjoyable - see here
Theme Time Radio Hour (TTRH) was a weekly, one-hour satellite radio show hosted by Bob Dylan originally airing from May 2006 to April 2009. Each episode was an eclectic, freeform mix of blues, folk, rockabilly, R&B, soul, bebop, rock-and-roll, country and pop music, centered on a theme such as "Weather," "Money," and "Flowers" with songs from artists as diverse as Patti Page and LL Cool J.

I do :)
I think would be safe say they were miming, but in an unsafe manner !
It has a certain 'In The Summer Time' by Mungo Jerry vibe to it. I think that's likely to be today's 'earworm' on my ride to the car boot sale.
Are they eccentric hubs on one of the bikes or what ?!
Does anyone recognise where it was filmed ?

Thank you J, that would make sense,
they were formed there, I read here; I had mistakenly assumed they were British, they also recorded a version of 'In The Summertime'!
so my musical radar is still working OK.

They must have spent at least a fiver on this video (petrol for the beach buggy).

It's a shame their version didn't have Woodie Guthrie's Dust Pneumonia Blues as a B side like Mungo Jerry's version, excellent that is.

I hummed The mixtures song once on today's ride when it came to mind, but fortunately it hasn't stuck as an ear worm.
The only Melbourn(e) I would recognise is the one in Cambridgshire.
Currently listening to a bit of Chet Atkins who is my default Sunday listening. 'Mayan Dance' in this case which I've managed to stick on a repeat setting on my ipod, seven times so far; where's me glasses ! I can picture 'Red Dwarf's' Arnold Rimmer liking this somehow.
How long can you last ?!

You're kidding? They should all be in Kerala, retired, quietly muttering mantra and nibbling lentils! Fair play to them - thanks for the link :-)

I have just taken delivery of The Average White Band vinyl double album of greatest hits. They were featured on Radio Scotland on Saturday morning 6th November 2021 at 6am on a show entitled Classic Scottish Albums. Wow, check it out!
Why it was on at 6am is beyond me...I was waiting for the "Out of Doors" programme but, hey, this was bliss in the warm dark of my bed on headphones!

I think they made a promise to Chris Squire before he died, that they would carry on. I’m off to see them live next year, COVID permitting.

AWB: always to seemed feature full-on in the window display at The Other Record Shop, St Mary's Street, Edinburgh. 1970s
I never quite 'Got It' with Yes although Chris Squire's acoustic guitar phrasing on Fragile did tempt me to try to soundalike. Fool that I was,

Currently preparing music for Sunday, and because I'm having to fiddle the instrumental parts to fix stuff I'm currently listening to a traditional hymn with my wife singing 1/2 beat behind (because we'll need to rerecord the vocal part).

It sounds very odd indeed.
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

Mark Knopfler playing with Chet Atkins, this was part of an excellent TV special from years ago.
'I'll See You In My Dreams' and 'Walk of Life'.
About 8 1/2 minutes long.
