Never understood that phrase. If the unexpected is expected then it's not unexpected

Full quote from Hitchhikers guide.
The nearest approach the Guide makes to this matter is on page seven-thousand-and-twenty-three, which includes the words “expect the unexpected.” This advice has annoyed many Hitch-Hikers in that it is ‘A’ - glib, and ‘B’ - a contradiction in terms.
In fact, the very best advice it has to offer in these situations is to be found on the cover. Where it says, in those now notoriously large and famously friendly letters, “Don’t Panic”.

Douglas could have easily been writing about brexit.

And if 43 really is the answer then he probably was.

The Grauniad has an inspiring article about Romanian people working in the UK, they are the second-biggest group after my favourites (Poles), but apparently many are too busy working and do not follow the UK media, they may not know about having to apply for settled status, -1

Plenty of them are smart hard-working people who speak several languages, if they were refused settled status they could go to Germany or Belgium, might not be so good for their kids born in the UK, mind

Apparently the Prince of Wales has a pied-a-terre in Romania

Re: Referendum of Final Negotiated Deal
I find May's reaction to such a referendum quite amusing/predictable (i.e. "when hell freezes over and not even then"). Predictable given that she has fought (using tax payers money) through the courts to exclude Parliament from having any say so the idea of the electorate having any say must be her worst nightmare.

But then could we really endure MayBot repeating two or three bland meaningless soundbites on TV every night for a month ...

I see that Ms May was not terribly convincing at er EU presentation about what she's been pushing as the only way forward!

Which means that even Hungry failed to support Ms May even after her Conservatives tried to buy their support by voting against the entire rest of the EU and support Orban!

Anyone taken time out from complaining and done anything to protect themselves should everything implode? Just finished my final preparations today, although few will be gently on going.

I do like to think that when the Rapture/Nuclear War/Famime/global sea level rises come that folk don't spend their final minutes whittling, and actually do something to try and ensure continuity for themselves and their family

We? There are people out there - in this country, that are hungry now.

Hitchhikers Guide wrote:Many men of course became extremely rich, but this was perfectly natural and nothing to be ashamed of because no one was really poor – at least no one worth speaking of.

So I guess the real answer is "No", *we* won't be hungry.
