Would they be the floods he didn't think were a national emergency and couldn't be buttocked to show his face at until shamed into doing so :x

I was interesting how useless Johnson was when faced with those expressing their disappointment in him. He's very good and being the "cheery chappie" with bluster, etc. but most of the time it's facing interviewers or those he has authority over (ministers, advisers, etc.). Put him in front of public telling him what they think and he virtually "goes to pieces".

If he can control he situation he can cope but when it's not under his control he can't handle it well.

Successive British governments Socialist and Tory have consistently shortchanged Northern England so its nothing new. Meanwhile ambitious and talented Northerners have migrated South to the promised land to pursue more lucrative employment. Floods are a great opportunity to skewer absent politicians, remember GW?
When I lived in S Wales in the 1976 drought and water had been cut off for weeks it took the bed of the Thames to crack before they appointed a Minister for Drought!
As for the voting if there was a better alternative to the Tories folk including me would be voting for it, but again I find myself aligned with the majority intending to vote for what the majority see as the least damaging option. I note that the top 1% are paying 30% of all income tax collected whilst taxi drivers and b&b owners are identified as the UKs top tax evaders.

The differences being that people's opinions on this thread for staying in the EU are backed up by facts and reasonable projections by experts in their respective fields of expertise, whereas the opinions of leavers are back up with opinions ofmliars and charlatans.

Over to the GE thread for the latest ducking and diving U-turns et cetera :)

You're going to have to explain what that means,as I'm :?

I simply ask myself: Is the UK a better place than it was 10 years ago?

I think by any measure you use the answer is a resounding "No".
Another 5 years of the same? Hopefully not.

Is Corbyn a better choice? I've no idea, but he's a different choice.
Like all leaders he'll be a lot more hamstrung than he'd like, plus I find it hard to believe anyone could do more damage to the country than has occurred in the last 10 years so I'm happy to give him a shot.
Unlike brexit if it turns out to be a bad idea then in 5 years time he's gone and someone else has replaced him.

All those 'experts' with their reasonable logical opinions and so called proven facts are being ignored by a substantial majority after being seen to be biased and consistently wrong peddling snake oil time and again. Havent you Remain guys ever asked yourselves why?

That can't be denied though the rightwing governments since 1979 worse than others.

Some without doubt have but I'd need a reliable source for that claim.
Taken to it's logical conclusion the north must now be totally drained of ambition and talent,I think that's where your theory,or should I say sweeping statement comes unstuck :?

GW.?

Shall we stick to the past ten years and the lack of environmental planning and help for flood victims.

You're a Tory stop trying to hide it.
As for taxes the top 1% aren't paying enough, and there are too many loopholes for multinationals and the rich to drive a coach and horses through.
Whilst you may be right about taxi drivers and B&B owners(though a citation would be good) their tax evasion is peanuts compared with the likes of O2,Google,Facebook,etc,etc.

A couple questions, why would a Russian oligarch donate £1.2m to the Tory party?
And why won't the present PM release the report into it?

As for a Tory government led by an abject liar and racist, being the best bet for the country,in Al world that's a given.

Where did you see that and what % of taxable income do the top 1% get? That seems pretty important when trying to decide whether 30% is appropriate taxation.

If there's anyone peddling snake oil remedies it's the leave campaign, the likes of Farage and Boris'get Brexit done'Johnson both conmen.

There's no so blind as them that will not see.I know what being in the EU is and I'm aware of it's shortcomings,I've also got a good idea what relying on the USA for deal and trade looks like.I'll take my chances with the EU where the UK sits at a table and has a voice!

As a floating voter I vote for what I see as the best option for me, my family and the country's future as a whole, at the moment I am with the Tories, yes. I know you R2 live in a " four legs good, two legs bad" environment do try to look at things a bit more objectively. Freed of the Superstate the UK will leap forward. We dont want to be dragged back to the dismal 70s, a time best forgotten which damaged the UK below the waterline leaving us still suffering today.

Even where these donors are also UK citizens, I wonder if the original source of those funds has been established. Are (some of) those donors just a conduit for Russian Government money, was the money through corruption, etc.?

Maybe non-release was a condition of the donation.

Is it right that non-voters can fund our politicial parties?

Isn't it a sign of something fundamentally dodgy that a party with about 160,000 members has about double the income of a party roughly three times its size and about five times that of a party two-thirds its size?
