I am glad I dont travel abroad esp in the EU for holidays as I wouldnt want to be laughed at & pitied. such is now the case after last night. had a bad nights sleep as a result

IMO this petition is pointless. Arguably, the Brexit referendum was a sort of double petition, which resulted in most "signatures" for leave.

I don't think "Revoke Article 50" has ever been offered in a referendum.

Theresa May's address

Well it won't be Downing Street much longer after her address tonight. I think she's always had a difficult hand to play but she blew it tonight. It was insulting and patronising and damaging to the institution of Parliament. I give her two weeks.

Two weeks would be too long for her she was never upto the job in the first place,and she won't be happy until it's a no deal Brexit.
She and her party are a millstone around the UK's neck and have always been where the EU are concerned,too many Establishment little englanders living in past century's in the millionaire huddle.

Graun says the petition won't make a ha'porth of difference. Petitions are debated in Westminster Hall and results are non-binding. IMO it probably wouldn't get debated before September anyway.

FWIW I signed: being from NI I don't want to see a return to violence. The missus is from Yorkshire and won't sign: she was 100% for Remain to start with, but after all the hate, confusion and treachery she's now so ashamed of being English she "wants the swine out". (She didn't really say swine but the word she did use got grundied out.)

It refutes the idea (propounded by May last night) that the public are simply gagging for Brexit. Actually 53% support remaining in the EU.

Comiserated rather than laughed at or pitied. Many of our fellow Europeans have had bad governments (or lengthy non-governments in Belgium's case) but I think it's been a while since any had one quite as masochistic as May's.
