Talking about whistling along to Stevie Wonder harmonica solos on another thread, I can normally make a reasonable job
on them if I hear one as background music in a shop. This one however defeated me in the local British Heart Foundation.'There Must Be an Angel'
by the Eurythmics. You really have to commit to the high notes, super tricky, even to whistle.
Apparently he turned up at the recording session late at night after they'd asked him to guest on the song. After he'd played his solos, Dave Stewart asked him if he wanted to do a second take, Stevie said something along the lines of; you've got to be kidding, he knew he'd nailed it. Awesome.
Isolated track here;

,and also where he joined them on stage, hear the crowd go mad as he makes his entrance just before a minute into the video, magic. I think he was probably a surprise guest.

Aberdeen's finest Annie Lennox on great form here as well. Quine hae a braw set o' pipes.
(Apologies for breaking into mock-Doric ), my Mother's family lived there for many years.

Soft Machine Live at the Paradiso - classic

Going to see Grace Petrie this evening, a latter day Billy Bragg and the only concert where my daughter will be applauded for wearing her 'F*** The Tories' earrings.

Recently I've been listening to RadioRock, a Finnish Rock radio station. Mostly because it's a good way of improving my Finnish but also they obviously expect a large % of their audience to speak English (they will conduct interviews in English if necessary) and yet haveno worries about playing songs that would have an English DJ sacked within minutes.
And I suspect "I love to say [expletive deleted]" never had a radio version that you could play over here

I've listened to this a few times recently, Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives playing live on the David Letterman show,
a cracking band, chicken - pickin' geetar and some doubled-guitar duo-ling between Marty and Kenny Vaughan towards the end that must have taken ages to get right, magic. (Apart from Marty's oh so '80's hair style, better bald than bouffant Marty !).
4 &1/2 minutes long. Funny how he tips Kenny's hat back when they share a mic' as well, class.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marty_Stuart
p.s for guitar Geeks, Marty is using a B-Bender on his tele to get the pedal steel sound - it can raise the pitch of the b string by up to a full step, controlled by mechanism in the rear body of the guitar attached to, and operated by the top strap button, which in turn is connected by a series of linkages to the guitar's bridge, this is the ex-Clarence White guitar (or a spare copy possibly) mentioned in the Wikipedia article I think.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B-Bender
Albert Lee used to use a similar set up once upon a time.

A bit too smooth a version for my liking.
The original is great IMO with some superb Dylan poetry :- https://youtu.be/95cufW4h-gA

Oh, er, mum, there's a bloke on the radio singing a song called " PUTIN on the Agony". 1957 was a good year. I was there. It was before that Bay of Pigs standoff Rugby League match in the Caribbean, remember? Lonnie Donegan was always good for a laugh...and before his time, clearly,

All Along the Watchtower is also quite apt in the current Ukraine war situation too
