Pitchfork media's streamed Slowdive session recorded in NYC a few days ago (annoyingly starts about 7 minutes in! ) Slowdive, the album now number 16 in the UK album chart, the only Indie album to make it that high at the moment.

https://youtu.be/Ewn0nTNploI

Rather different from what one normally finds in the charts.

More than annoying, I almost gave up but stuck it out. The video starts of with an ad that you can't kill after the normal 5 seconds, so also annoying.
Certainly different from most of the average in the charts. Do they write all their own stuff?

Yes, they write all their own stuff. Neil is a great songwriter. All of the band contribute and Neil arranges it. No covers.

I didn't watch Eurovision but saw the end. I was glad to see the awful spangled shreakers lost and a quite ordinary decent song sung by a non showy chap won. Music lives...

Currently listening to .......
The clocks ticking, the rain gently falling, and the birds twittering and singing.

I've been listening to a couple of albums by Ali Farke Toure on Youtube ,The River is quite nice.
It's African music fused western light rock/jazz with some nice rhythms. :D

Try Talking Timbuktu with Ry Cooder if you haven't already - in my Top 10 all-time list.
