Touring on a bicycle is a great way to explore and appreciate the countryside and towns you pass through. CTC gone but not forgotten!

Classic folk music and that particular disaster I'm acutely aware of as it was only 20years before I started in the pit and geographically only some 40miles away from where I live.
As for listening to,it doesn't strike the right chord(sorry)for me as a song.

Dunno I quite like his vocal style. He's appearing in a village hall near here next month - might go along to see what he's like live.

You sure about the 40 miles? It was at Easington colliery on the coast between Hartlepool and Sunderland.

One of the Proclaimers latest songs.... ' Angry Cyclist ', warning, contains ' ear worms ', I can't stop

humming it. It's a state of the nation/world song, I think..., not particularly about cyclists, bang on form,

a cracker in my opinion.

Here’s my favourite new tune from this year. Kathryn and Sean Lakeman’s song “52 Hertz”:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlE-1QH ... ture=share

It’s a song about a true story, a whale that it still currently swimming the Pacaific but cannot communicate with other whales because he’s singing in the wrong frequency:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFFgoFS ... ture=share

I can attest that it’s no good for cycling / turbo work. But sad and beautiful as well.
