Swedish tolerance for minorities & migrants a myth?

Post by mercalia »

We have all heard of the extensive welcoming of Syrian migrants by Sweden, seems like this stance is tarnished by their treatment of the Sami people.

AN interesting article of a film about the Sami people in Sweden and their maltreatment compared to that of those in Norway. For those who dont know they are the original inhabitants of Northern Europe. I first heard about them when I saw a film following a reindeer herder, last xmas. These arent Eskimoes. They dont look much different from you or me

"Honoured at the Venice Film Festival and critically acclaimed, hit movie Sami Blood should make Swedes question why Sami oppression in Sweden is not common knowledge, and it’s time for that to change, argues Sami Parliament member Oscar Sedholm."

It seems like a comparison to the Australian aborigines is fair comment?
