We watched Happy Feet again yesterday evening.
We can't recommend this film highly enough.

Guy Richie British Gangster filums, formulaic, predictable but entertaining ....
But, apart from Lock Stock, watch Jonny Lee Millar in "Circus" ..... Brilliant...
Ray Winstone's cry of "Fix Bayonets" will live with TFJ and I forever .... with a giggle ...
WARNING .... It's not a comedy ....

The genre *western* is interesting and there are so many variations of it, I saw *The Homesman* a couple of years ago
Modern films are often aimed at particular audiences, children's films should be interesting for adults too
It is very difficult to predict whether a film will make money. *Straight outta Compton*, a film about rappers, was surprisingly succesful

Re: FILUMS ..to see.
Another excellent film "Sir Henry at Rawlinson End". different and maybe takes a particular sense of humour. But the film, and associated media (CD, etc.). Stanshall reading a bit come on my random order play in the car and the language quite amazing
A few classics "Jeremy Sphincter has sailed for Australia after the poultry scare. (We won't mention HIM again.)" or "Maureen was struggling furiously, headfirst in a barrel of dill pickels. I knew she always carried a snorkel in her handbag, but ... would she use it?" or "During the summer I throw myself naked onto the lawn in a northerly direction parallel to the earthly axis. With a bluey roman clock face tattoo'd about my private parts, I think about Jean Harlow and from the shadow cast tell the time with remarkable accuracy.". And the sight of Trevor Howard wearing a tutu and riding a unicycle ...
Fabulous performance by Tervor Howard, but I think the radio/audio version works really well. A sample from Bonzo's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3sTKtvclmc (musical introduction for 1st minute before the background explanation starts, then the story itself starts at 2:30) but gives an excellent impression what the story is about. You'll soon get a feel for it and the use of language. Certainly shows what a great talent Stanshall was.
Lunacy at its best. some would love it, others probably not manage fore than the 1st few minutes.

Motor cycle diaries and kajaki.
Motor cycle diaries because although the poor were being treated, to put it mildly badly, he could have done more for them without being a terrorist. I am always suspicious of the real reason behind there motives. As all revolutionarys seem to turn on each other once they win power and fail to offer democracy. One dictatorship replaced with another. ps it was a good and interesting film. For this who don't know he was a great scrum half likely to play for Argentinas national team.
Kajaki? Should be shown to all recruits no need to say why.

'The Eagle Huntress' (2016) narrated by Daisy Ridley
Cinema last night to see this charming documentary following thirteen year old Aisholpan and her quest to become an eagle huntress in a male dominated world. Her Kazakh family live a nomadic lifestyle and via some brilliant camera work we see them in the stunning landscapes of the Altai mountains near the Mongolian steppe.
An absolute cracker. 9/10.

Re: FILUMS ..to see.
Che Guevara, was a mass murderer and a terrorist who chose violence and death over the people he pretended to fight for ...
If students wear his image on a T-shirt ... why not Pol Pot as well ..... the scale was different but the intent was the same ....
Che Guevara reveled in torture ..
Mass murderer...
Just a personal opinion ....

Re: FILUMS ..to see.
In my top 5 of all time filums is Blade Runner ....
Just watched the trailer for the new version ....
Frankly it was like watching the trailer for Ghost in the Shell .....
Very similar graphics .....
which is not good
I've always thought Dekker was a Nexus 6, as well as Roy Batty and Priss ...... just no incept code ... like Rachel.

I generally find it disappointing when they chose to remake a film that have a previous (very) good version. There are so many excellent stories that would make excellent films it seems such a shame that they stick to a "safe" option where the previous version was a success.

Re: FILUMS ..to see.
This is a part 2 .... but the story line is basically the same ...... so it's a re-make .....
But without Roy and Priss ....
If they where serious about it, it would have been called "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" ...

Re: FILUMS ..to see.
Dunkirk - not seen it yet, read a couple of reviews
One thought it was great, the other thought it was awful
Who is right? Should one avoid reading reviews and just go to see the film and maybe read reviews later?
