Life and War ... It's not "Call of Duty" on XBOX or PS4...

It's terribly real ...

That is of course Guardian clickbait. There were around 1,000 Indian troops at Dunkirk but that is not many in the context of the 300,000 who were evacuated let alone the several tens of thousands who were killed or taken prisoner.

Plus of course a significant proportion of those who were evacuated were French but opted to be repatriated to France rather than join the Free French forces.

You could say that there is a film to be made about Indian troops at Dunkirk or those who served in other theatres of WW2 but saying a film about an event which mainly concerned white people is not representative because a small minority of Indian troops are not mentioned is the Guardian at its most typical.

*Star of India* starts next week, it is about the end of the colonial period not about ww2

Abso-blooming-marvelous. :D :D
We've got Happy Feet 2 to watch as well as I bought the boxed set in Plymouth yesterday. £3 well spent.

Just watching Almost Famous http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0181875/ (again; recorded). I initially watched it after listening to one of Led Zeppelin being interviewed and they were saying how accurately it summed-up "on-tour" life. Brilliant acting and the music brings back many memories and reminders of the era.

This is Spinal Tap is the real artists choice...

Reuse, recycle, thus do your bit to save the planet.... Get stuff at auctions, Dump, Charity Shops, Facebook Marketplace, Ebay, Car Boots. Choose an Old House, and a Banger ..... And cycle as often as you can......

Fun but not the same memories or spirit, does not bring back the memories of life, spirit of the time. Spinal Tap often mentioned by artists when they poke fun at themselves and the daft one-off incidents the film included but Almost Famous is more about the spirit and captures the time beyond the music e.g. Sapphire's call to William's Mum. Things like the parties (and the "mistakes"); being completely out of your head when serious things start happening; the freedom of not being contactable (or the expectation of being contactable) 100% of the time through mobiles - when you were somewhere you were there; relying on memories that were personal rather than having to post it to Facebook (or Twitter as it happens), you experience something there being no need for everybody else to know what you experience.

Try watching the original Anime ... The film works better then ... But ... It has "franchise" written all over it I'm afraid

My local multiplex has seven screens

When it opens, hundreds of people want to buy tickets at once

But for later screenings the times are not staggered either! So a thousand or more people want to buy tickets within half an hour. Standing in a queue is disagreeable, I might decide to go home and skip the film (I do hate strangers standing close behind me)

Then the staff have nothing to do for
90 minutes

I think it would be better to stagger the times, the films are different lengths so this would be easy. If one theatre showed shorter films there could even be more screenings €€!

Any suggestions why the starting times are not staggered?

They are in the multiplex near me. Films are different lengths the gap is long enough to clean the place (well, obviously it isn't but that's another issue).

I usually buy the tickets online anyway. Who can be bothered queuing?

Not showing here in Germany (west) unfortunately
I did see a trailer for the Churchill film but he was speaking German (dubbed), didn't seem quite right %-)?

- What's your name? barked the German spy
- Don't tell him, Pike! screamed Captain Mainwaring
