cheap places to stay in Birmingham

I see can get a very cheap fare with Chiltern Rail from London for £7.30 return, advanced with my rail card. I have never been to Birmingham before so thought might take a deko. Any ideas where to stay maybe camp within short distances of the place? just a few days to have a look around
