Re: Cycling jokes
A pedestrian, staring down at his phone, stepped off the kerb and into the path of a cyclist. The phone went flying, and the pedestrian, bike, and cyclist all landed together in a heap on the road.
"You were really lucky there, mate." said the cyclist.
"What are you talking about!?! That really hurt!" said the pedestrian, feeling his head and wincing.
The cyclist replied, "Well, I usually drive a bus!"

Re: Cycling jokes
A club run of rather boisterous young men ends up at the local transport café.
The team fresh from the cut and chase of the peloton are laughing shouting and Joking
A quietly spoken driver peers over his paper and asks the rabble to keep it down
the team are having none of it and start telling the driver to go take a running jump mob mentality take over
and the driver is harangued to the point where they are throwing bits of food and generally taunting the driver who does not respond
the driver finishes his paper and leaves without another word spoken,
one of the cyclists jibes not much of man that one couldn't take a joke. the café owner says
"not much of a driver either he has just backed over 10 bikes"

- nice one!
The variation I heard was that the cyclist said - "You're lucky I'm not working today"..................the pedestrian asked why, and the cyclists said : "I'm a truck driver"...................somehow it's not as funny.

Neither are funny I think, likewise the one about destroying bikes
In politics a sensitivity to harassment and inappropriate *humour* is developing, that would be good here too
Remember the truck driver in Bath?

This is a problem with abbreviations and how they change in use.NUKe wrote:mercalia wrote:not a cycling joke but bitter sweet

LOL was indeed shorthand for Lots of Love back in the days before texting. I remember it well when we used to send letters.

Re: Cycling jokes
Maybe both are true, lots of love and laugh out loud
The context should indicate which applies

It seems that someone's sensitivity was though.

Can you please explain in what way you feel the joke was harassment or inappropriate?
