What rules do you never break?

Post by Cyril Haearn »

I never break the law when driving

I always put my glasses in the same place in the bookcase to be sure I can find them and will not sit on them

What rules do you always obey?

Gravity, mathematics...

I'm sure I *do* break laws when driving, but I err away from it strongly. However at the junction between a 40mph zone and a 30 I will coast* down to speed, and if I am still at 32 as I cross the line I'm not going to brake significantly to scrub that off.

* Lift off - more engine braking, but since I'm rarely at high revs it's a gentle retardation.
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

I never tell a lie, except when it is important that I do so, or when I find it funny. Am I being too strict with myself?

I always find that this is open to a wide range of interpretation.
A good example is that most parents feel it is important to lie to their children about many things in order to protect them from the big wide world.

Hi,
There are many that we all do sometimes or may do in certain circumstances, and I am trying to think of one that I never break :?

Well today and every day for the rest of my life, one I will try never to break because I believe in self protection is...........and many do this daily.................I intend never to break the rule of looking before you cross the road............both ways..............

I never break any Russian, Chinese or even Korean laws. I never break aviation or maritime law.
I never break any stocks, shares or financial trading laws. I never break dog fouling laws.
I never break Capital Gain's Tax regulations.
There are thousands of rules and laws that I will never be in the position to break. :D

I probably break more than a dozen of the others without knowing every day. Then quite a few more that I knowingly break on a regular basis.

There are some principles that I feel quite passionately about but it is hard to be absolutist, often you have to balance one thing against another, which makes it hard to stick to "never" when there is a choice.

Unlike the hairy-ar5ed builders and Mr. Important's at our local supermarket, I never park in disabled parking bays or mother and toddler parking bays.

Disabled parking bays at supermarkets ?
So, disabled, but able to walk around a supermarket pushing a trolley for >30 minutes.
I wish our Jules could do that ....
