I don't know whether to be reassured by the notion that the Good Folk of America must surely have realised what the bloke is really like, by now - or else be well & truly alarmed by the prospect of him doing something very, very dangerous while he still has access to that briefcase!!
EDIT: Oops - I overlooked Tony Scarramucci - mind you, that's probably a good idea!

Good read, that Guardian article, thanks for the link.

Last few days I've been watching The Trump Show. I think Anthony Scarramucci comes across very very well. He strikes me as a thoroughly decent man, who knows he made a mistake.

I'm looking forward to my Trump book, which is arriving tomorrow. No, not "The Art of Building Gaudy Hotels" or whatever it's called, the one by his niece.

One reason I'm cautious of going near Ancestry.com is the within-the-bounds-of-possibility that I'm actually related to Donald Trump.

Why worry?
I think it'll be quite funny, I don't think the damage he's done will be apparent until the end of a second term.

Bit like brexit really, it's done, you know it's going to be a disaster, you can't do anything about it so may as well just sit back and enjoy the show.

Of course his supporters will just blame covid in the same way our lot blame the EU.

I'm expecting the modern equivalent of the Zinoviev Letter, but AIUI, a lot of votes have already been cast.

For the sake of world peace I hope that Trump wins, though I doubt that there will be much peace in America if he does. The intolerant bigoted Democrats are hot wired and rabidly against democracy.

"Liberal dream"?

IMO the U.S is conservative to its core.
I'm slightly surprised Portland is as bad as she says though, being on the west coast and just south of Canada...

One definition of madness is that it is an inability to function in mainstream society. Trump has functioned all too well. Perhaps it is America that is mad.
It's the same the whole world over
It's the poor what gets the blame
It's the rich what gets the pleasure
Isn't it a blooming shame?

I've just bought this:

I've only read the first few pages, but it's already quite revealing.

If Trump loses as looks likely it'll be a blow to the right here. Doubtless Johnson will try and cobble up a deal with the EU because he wouldn't get a trade deal with the USA any time soon if ever.
