Seems Trump doesn't really work unless he can shout and rant and intimidate. He has nothing to say.

Mind you, I would hate the choice the US are faced with. It really is vote for Biden because you don't want Trump.

Do you miss Obama?

Fascinating piece here, in the Grauniad today, about our favourite bonkers-person... staunch Tories need not fear they're about to be exposed to a whinging lefty angst-fest, should they choose to click the link - granted one of the 4 comments is by Bob Woodward (he of Watergate fame, no less... played by Robert Redford in All The President's Men) but the other 2 are by his niece, who we should recall is an experienced academic, specialising in Psychology and the last by John Bolton, who is about as right-wing a hawk as you can get... I don't know whether to be reassured by the notion that the Good Folk of America must surely have realised what the bloke is really like, by now - or else be well & truly alarmed by the prospect of him doing something very, very dangerous while he still has access to that briefcase!!
EDIT: Oops - I overlooked Tony Scarramucci - mind you, that's probably a good idea!

Fairytale from The Lincoln Project - kinda like the mad king...

(The Lincoln Project, for anyone who doesn't know, is a group of Republicans set up to help oppose and overthrow Trump.)

See CBS clip here - the dude is even more of a pathetic witless doughnut than I thought!! In a weird perverted mirror of The American Way, it only goes to show that, truly, a complete nobody can make it to the top!!
re The Lincoln Project, from what I've seen over the last four years or so, it simply cannot be that there are not genuine, old-school, decent Republicans who cannot wait to get rid of this embarassing jerk. Not so long ago, it was sometimes quite hard to tell a right-leaning Democrat from a left-leaning Republican. The uber-populist Trump is an experiment-gone-wrong, soon to be forgotten.

I don't think he has it in him to make a dignified exit - he will be dragged away, screaming and frothing, by men in white coats! And The American Establishment will firmly & quietly shut the door on the whole darned family...

Probably a call to arms if that hasn't happened already, in which case he'll just stir it up even worse.

Hope you're right, but quite spontaneously a couple weeks ago I got to thinking about that Germanwings pilot who overpowered his co-pilot, locked himself in the cockpit and flew the aircraft into a mountain - it'll be like that - Trump's a pure psycho; he'll do everything he can to take everyone else down with him.

Sadly I don't buy the happy ending of the Lincoln Project ad - I wish I did but the notion that tyranny can be overthrown at the ballot box is as much of a myth as US democracy.

Hope I'm wrong though.

Well that's nice, but I think the US also needs a new constitution - their existing one's a bit wonky, even though that handmaiden they're just about to appoint for life to the Supreme Court seems to think it's gospel.

Still, here's some entertainment - a cleverly written song with a catchy chorus - 'Pathological liar'... - you could have guessed who it's about! :)

If you're not American (I'm not) you'd probably have to have full-blown TDS (I have) to recognise all the references (I do!), but it's a good summary of Trump's presidency. Singer is Jen Houston.

You aren't wrong. Voter suppression is raging. Voters have had their voter registrations struck from the rolls and found it difficult to reregister, polling places are closed, people are having to wait hours in queues to vote (of course, not everyone can do that), the postal system is being dismantled, and on-time delivery of mail is worse than it has been in my lifetime, except for this summer, when the changes were first implemented, postal workers have traditionally been used as witnesses for postal ballots when people vote by mail due to being home-bound or disabled, and they have now issued orders that postal workers may no longer witness postal votes. The list of suppression tactics is pages long, even for one state, let alone the country.

If Trump can't win that way, he will try other ways. I will be very surprised if he doesn't finagle his way somehow to a second term. If he doesn't manage it, I'm sure that you are right & he will go out like a train wreck, firing (more) people, issuing disruptive excutive orders, fomenting rebellion, etc.

With the levers of power at his command and his willingness to subvert any laws I cannot see any chance of his not gaining a second term. I so hope I am wrong. And as to original question, no, he is bad not mad. His supporters are both.

Some people will, apparently, be armed when voting. Pretty intimidating, I imagine.

Trump has limited postal voting by weakening the postal system so it is unlikely to deliver. Then he is making a strict cut off. Then he will blame the poor postal system which he destroyed.
