If you have a dislike of false histories, it's probably not the best place to look for something more factual.

That is a more reliable source, but it doesn't agree with the earlier one
A close aide once told me that she opposed apartheid more on the grounds that it was a sin against economic liberalism rather than a crime against humanity.
The facts are well documented, she opposed sanctions when most other Western countries were calling for them and she considered the ANC to be terrorists at the time when many other countries were treating them as a legitimate political organisation.
I never thought I would see the day,I was arguing for Thatcher and thankfully this is one of them. I am not saying she had the right policies, but to suggest she was a supporter of apartheid is just wrong. She believed sanctions would not work, which is not the same as supporting apartheid. So prove that she did actively support apartheid.
The ANC were terrorists by definition, but one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter , This was why when Mandella came to power he held truth and reconciliation councils, one of his best moves And why he will always be seen as a great leader, If he had not then you only have to look at South Africa's neighbour Zimbabwe to see what might have happened.
I am not suggesting Thatcher was right in her policies ,but to say she supported apartheid is wrong too. I like many of my contemporaries went on Marches against Apartied, we all wanted revolution, but now I just want history told warts and all.
