Popped into town 7 miles (Taunton) on the bus first thing to get some milk before the shelves get stripped bare. Got caught last time with no milk for 5 days. This was after eaking out our last pint by watering it down. :(
It's snowing here now but not settling yet. 8)

I like bitter.....

To me the best place on a day like today is a warm old fashioned pub, big log fire and a pint of good bitter

I also like the fact the guy on Well End is so ashamed of owning a red BMW he has tried to hide it

I've absolutely no idea about the present situation because everything changed at the end of the Cold War, but sirens just like that were a part of the notorious four-minute warning system for nuclear attack in rural areas. The idea was that some local building such as a police house, the vicarage or a pub would have a connection to the warning system. If it went off, the occupier would climb the tower and spend the rest of the four minutes winding the siren. If this brave village Hampden had survived being blown to Kingdome Come, they would, in due course, have sounded the All Clear or the grim warnings of nuclear fallout.

Now it is much quicker, as soon as the nuclear missile has been fired everyone gets an SMS: 'Prepare to meet thy maker'

Hi,
A bit feeble on the ground this morning but a nice blizzard going now and all day, so tomorrow will be chaos.

Er in doors says we don't get snow that often................well I have the pictures over last 16 years and we are up to six in that time at least, living on a hill means micro climate for sure..

I am off out later to Lidl for a bargain I spied online................4x4....... :)

More snow and significant drifting here in NW Wales than last time. Though not as cold.

My guess is that higher level routes are difficult to impassable.
The coast may be better.

Hi,
Still snowing in S Devon, have had to clear the doors to house several times as they face the wind and snow is building up on them.
Went out and many cars abandoned on high ground, started whiting out again on way home in car from shop, Lidl was deserted.

Snow is freezing on my house doors so morning will be fun for those trying to get to their cars.
Tuesday 8 degrees and some sun.
They are talking of 30 cm on Dartmoor, we must of had about 15 - 20 cm.
