11th of March

Here we are and it's already the 11th of March.

Thought I share this nugget with you. Much truth is what she said.

Winter has been a long wet affair with a snowy sting in its tail for many.
There seems to be less definition of the seasons in UK weather, warmer wetter winters with less warm summers, and some extremes of temperatures, rain and wind thrown into the mix.
These are my own feelings and observations, without any scientific research.

Thought this was going to be about mother's day. :)

I'd have thought you'd be so outraged by this that other stuff would have paled into obscurity.

Beat me to it TC.
I read that news earlier this morning, and was going to post about it.
Just heard about it on R4 too.

Personally, I don't care one way or another, except the cream should be Roddas clotted.

I know folk who get outraged if the scone is assembled incorrectly. We're going to the Bedford Hotel in Tavistock (Devon) later this month for a Devon Cream Tea as well as a night away. The Bedford is a good hotel, and I'm sure they'll be aware of the sensibilities of this issue, and the cream and the jam will be in separate dishes and you can assemble any way you want.

I'll do both Devon and Cornwall, and squish the two halves of the scone together, and scoff them like that. :D

Don't like cream. Scone and butter is enough. Jam at a push but cream is totally wrong in all ways possible IMHO. Health, taste and texture.

It is, of course, Mothering Sunday in the Anglican calendar but how many are practising Anglicans. To the rest of us it's mother's day.

Yep!
Just like much of the world's population too.
TVL payers pay for BBC radio and absolutely anyone anywhere can listen for free.

Listening to BBC Radio Cornwall at the moment. Bits I heard earlier they were discussing jam and cream.

BTW - online radio usually, or DAB in the car.

We had our cream tea ......... but had coffee.
The scones were huge, and we had to cut the halves into half to get them into our gobs. :D

The final half half, I spread jam at one end and clotted cream at the other.
