Not been to Oxford for a few years, I was shocked to read that 155 000 people live there now, I thought it was about 100 000
The median house price is more than half a million :?

Neither. Both are filled with mindless pbo's which makes cycling a pain.

I doubt either Oxford or Cambridge are full of mindless people.

I concur about O & C not being full of mindless people! But I would say that they are places were the opinion is very firmly set so as to become clones that maintain the status quo. Don't rock the boat, so later you may have a step ladder given to you so you can sit atop the greasy pole      . Whether it's bolshie posh bloke or a chippy one from the slums, the system will maintain its poise, don't make waves! MM

Hello all, our family business headquarters are in Oxford - and in Cambridge!

Neither is the city that I once knew, both being over-priced, over-populated, and over-visited: we are now actively looking (I say we, but mean my daughters) to find a different location that will be (a) less stressful (b) less expensive, but (c) one which still has a pool of decent, hard-working, staff.

We also have an office in Sydney, but are suffering labour problems there so may well close it next year.

I did wonder about trying Exeter (we do need to be near a University). Any suggestions, folks?

Happy days,

Hi Marcus, Are you sure you should be sending coded messages on an open forum?
Certainly all looks Greek to me! Even at 71 y-o-a I'm still trying to learn proper English, so what chance have I got at enjoying your erudite gems? MM
