I can only apologise if you feel that explaining why there are no "Live updates" and why that delay occurs is absurd, others recognised the posts and discussed them in an intelligent manner.

However if this is the way you chooses to avoid answering why you have lied about what I posted then that is your prerogative

At least you've given me a good laugh. You stated that these systems only report delays after they had happened. To include that statement in a post generally critical of these systems implied you think they should do otherwise. That otherwise could only be predicting the events before they occured. I was merely pointing out the absurdity of that.
ANyhow at leats you've given me a good laugh with your unintentionally funny and somewhat misinformed postings.

Still an absurd and untrue interpretation, but as above, if lying about the posts makes you feel better at having your claim that updates are "Live" disproven, then please feel free to use this coping mechanism

Did you also find the posts disproving your truly absurd and incorrect claims that "all modern cars have automatic braking" and "all modern cars have built in SatNav" equally funny?

I will leave you to your fantasy world.

I have thought up a new automatic system for German cars.........

A small detector that detects junctions......

As the vehicle approaches, it could predict which way the vehicle will turn. It could then operate a small flashing light (orange would be a good colour) on that side of the vehicle.

It would indicate the direction the vehicle would be travelling in

Perhaps we could call them "indicators"

Built-in satnav is a con, what if one wants another system?
I think motor manufacturers have been conning people for years with upgrade sets, if one wants a sunroof one must have power steering, etc etc

Volkswagen is in trouble now, it has had to rent space to store many thousands of vehicles that may not be sold because their exhausts do not meet the regulations

I took the course a few years back and it was a valuable reminder of certain aspects of driving which I had forgotten since passing my driving tests.

I took a lot from it for the simple reason that I approached it with an open mind - in stark contrast to the frightening number of narrow-minded folk who have posted a great deal of unadulterated drivel on this thread!

Today I was wasting time watching Nurburgring circuit crashes. What stuck me was that in the recent footage even a small "loss of control" generally caused a write off whereas in older videos the car was usually able to stop before hitting anything and often times carry on.

Maybe stopping distance has actually become greater than it used to be simply because car are MUCH heavier nowadays. I'm sure ant-lock braking and wider tyres does not make up for a 4 fold increase in weight.

It probably is also not as nice to be run over by this extra weight.

I'd have thought it works the other way round. Weight puts downward pressure on the tyres, allowing grip when braking. Obviously heavier cars need better brakes but surely that has been factored in.

My brother put together a Westfield, which was an oversize go-cart with a turbocharged 2 litre engine. It was very light and if you floored it the rear wheels would spin on the spot. It didn't have enough weight for the rear wheels to grip under hard acceleration. I'd imagine that would also apply to the braking. Same as on a bicycle. You get poor braking from the rear wheel if you want to stop fast because it doesn't have enough weight on it. Weight helps braking so long as the brakes are proportionate to the weight.

Two million drivers are caught speeding per year.
I havent had a ticket since the 1980s but it could happen to me tomorrow if I was driving somewhere new or they changed the limit on a regular route.
Some drivers get a ticket because they are always speeding.
Some drivers obey the law to the best of their ability and get unlucky
Some drivers obey the law to the best of their ability and stay lucky.
The only ones immune from getting a ticket are those who dont drive.

I have driven maybe 200 000 km

Stopped by the cops only once for the "wrong" speed, they asked why I was driving slowly, may I have a reward?

Never ever been caught going too fast

Also a lot more different speed zones.
When I moved here it was 60mph from my door to Carmarthen's 30mph limit.
Now the speed limit changes a dozen times in that same distance.

Like the dead man's handle on a train, to keep one awake and alert :?

Best to keep below 30 throughout

To be absolutely sure that would have to be 20mph.
Also a cruise control that can apply brakes as well as controlling the throttle.
