Re: Colour does make a difference?
Hi,
Impressive, saw it on TV.
Looks like picture quality is improved before colour is added.

Interesting one, I read an article where some children believe the originals are "old" because they are black and white, the colour do not have the same effect
Re: Colour does make a difference?
What always intrigued me was why we are shown old films at the wrong speed when the technology to correct it must exist.

It does exist and it is used: https://youtu.be/NjDclfAFRB4

Re: Colour does make a difference?
As to whether colour makes a difference, you decide:
The pics are from a set of slides I found on a fleamarket. From the fashions, they date from around 1911. Colouring the subject in Photoshop wasn't hard, but the grass & trees defeated me.

Re: Colour does make a difference?
Hi,
I should of said the whole quality is better, looks like a film made recently of same subject.
But quality maybe the wrong word, enhance.
So real well its based on real, over done to look good under our todays eyes of what we expect it to look like.
Lights on faces is probably to add realism but maybe a bit false.
