It is my understanding that without a verb it is never a full sentence!

Probably not.
Does it need "Mae"?

Various languages allow verbs to be understood, especially the verb "to be".

My German teacher told us that German dictionaries come in two volumes, with all the verbs in the second volume

In fact his whole language files series is really good.

That's the second trip up the Danube we've had, on this thread. Next time, I think I'll stop off at the Prater and take a turn on the Riesenrad*...

German is quite easy really, it is phonetic, unlike English

Off-topic, but reminds me of the challenge to write an English sentence that makes sense, and uses the maximum consecutive repetitions of the same word. I know one with seven.

There was one that went something like this:

John, in a grammar exercise in which Pete had had "had", had had "had had"; "had had" had had the teacher's approval.

The semi-colon seems a bit of a cheat but I think it's legitimate.

As for German, I learnt in school that the original German word for tank was Schuetzengrabenvernichtungsautomobil, i.e. vehicle for destroying defence trenches. Panzer was just the code name.

Thé longest German word is ‘Ausfahrt’. It starts in Aachen and ends at the Austrian border. Goodness knows how Austrians get off the motorway.
