Re: Obituaries miscellaneous, Judith Kerr..

Judith Kerr, German-British illustrator and author just died aged 95, as a modern author she was an entertainer too
When her family escaped the nazis to London she felt as if she was coming home

She was due to appear at the Hay Festival next week

Obituaries of people who lived long are often interesting, 'celebration' might be a good description, especially those who overcame/survived adversity and nastiness

Bryn, why not start a new thread for each? Adding a new reply for each person who has recently passed away would be better, I'm sure no one would mind, especially as the thread topic currently reads "Obituaries miscellaneous, Paul Flynn.." not appropriate really.

If I started a new thread for each there would be many stubs, short threads with one or two posts only (I did change the title for King R), plusminus?
Maybe I could just call it "Obituaries miscellaneous.."
For me and others King R was quite admirable, but soon he shall be largely forgotten, unlike Thatcher for example
He loved Wales too, of course

Knew Richard back in the day, before HoW became celebrity famous - Penelope Chetwode lived in HoW (died a few years after her very famous husband).
